What is the Objective of this Policy?
To keep children safe while attending Kilkee Medical Centre
Date of implementation and review
This policy is implemented from October 23rd 2025. This Child Safeguarding Statement will be reviewed on 1st January 2028 or as soon as practicable after there has been a material change in any matter to which the statement refers.
Risk Management Procedure
We have carried out a risk assessment to identify any potential risks to a child while
availing of our services. The outcome of the Risk assessment is stated in the child
safeguarding policy.

The employee who has received a disclosure of child harm or who has concerns about a child should bring them to the attention of Dr Bláthnaid Regan. She will be responsible to ensure that the child protection guidelines are appropriately implemented.

In making a report on suspected or actual child abuse, Dr Bláthnaid Regan must ensure that the first priority is always for the safety and welfare of the child/ young person.
